VIS 180BFiction and Allegory in Current Media Practices

4 units · VIS · UC San Diego

Course that theoretically and technically parses out how we create meaning through storytelling. How is history implicated in our experience of watching fiction? How does this affect the way that we create as artists? Students will examine the connection between the contrived and the real and language’s place in this cycle. There are both group-based and individual projects produced in this class around these issues. Two production-course limitation.
