The rules for using ace. Short version: it helps you find things out,
it is not your adviser, and you are still responsible for your own academic
decisions.

1. Agreeing to these terms
By using ace, joining the waitlist, or creating an account, you agree to these
terms and to our Privacy policy. If you do
not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Who can use ace
ace is built for university students. You must be at least 13 years old to use it.
If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.
Access during early release may require an invitation or access code. We may limit,
pause or withdraw access at our discretion while the service is in early release.
3. What ace is, and what it is not
ace is an information tool. It reads publicly published university material and, if
you choose to give it one, your own degree audit, and it answers questions about
them in plain language with a reference to where the answer came from.
ace is not academic advising, and it is not a substitute for your academic
adviser. It is not legal, financial or immigration advice. It gives no
guarantee about graduation, course registration, eligibility, financial aid, visa
status, or any other academic or financial outcome.
ace is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored
by The Pennsylvania State University or any other institution. University names,
marks and course codes are used only to describe publicly published academic
information.
Before you drop, add, defer, petition, or rely on a deadline, confirm it with your
adviser or the relevant university office. Those decisions, and their consequences,
remain yours.
4. Your account
Give accurate information when you register, and keep it current.
Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens
under your account.

if you think someone else has got into it.
One account per person. Do not share, sell or transfer it.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload or type. Your degree audit is
yours, and your questions are yours.
You give us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to store and process that
content purely so we can run the service for you: parsing your document, answering
your questions, and keeping your history available. That licence exists only to
operate ace, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.
We do not use your documents or conversations to train our own models, and we do
not sell them. Section 4 of the Privacy
policy explains exactly how your question text is processed, including where it
is sent.
You confirm you have the right to upload whatever you upload, and that doing so
does not breach anyone else's rights.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
Upload someone else's academic records without their permission.
Use ace to cheat, to complete assessed work, or in any way that breaks your
institution's academic integrity rules.
Scrape, crawl, resell, or systematically extract the service or its data.
Reverse engineer it, or try to get around access controls, rate limits or
security measures.
Upload malware, or anything unlawful, harassing or deliberately harmful.
Misrepresent ace as being operated, endorsed or approved by a university.
ace is a general information tool. Using it to complete graded work may breach your
institution's rules, and that is your responsibility to know and follow.
7. Accuracy and no warranty
We work hard on accuracy and we cite sources so you can check the original. Even
so, university requirements, deadlines and course availability change, sometimes
without notice, and automated systems make mistakes.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of
any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability,
fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant
that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties to be excluded, so parts of this
section may not apply to you.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ace and the people who make it are not
liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or
for any loss of academic standing, credits, tuition, financial aid, opportunity,
data or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the
greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or
US$50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by
negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
9. Our intellectual property
The ace name, mark, design, interface and software are ours. These terms do not
give you any right to use them beyond using the service as intended.
Course descriptions, requirements and handbook text remain the property of the
institutions that published them. We reference and summarise that material to help
you find and understand it, and we cite it back to its source.
10. Third-party services and links
ace may point you to university offices, forms or external pages. We do not control
those and we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
Where an answer routes you elsewhere, that is a signpost, not an endorsement.
11. Ending your access
You can stop using ace and delete your account at any time. Email
privacy@acecollege.app and we
will remove your data as described in the Privacy policy.
We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, or if we need to for legal
or security reasons. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United
States, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts located there
have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not remove
any protection you have under the mandatory law of your own country.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change when we do. If a change
materially affects your rights, we will tell registered users directly. Continuing
to use ace after a change means you accept the updated terms.
