VIS 124FArt in the Age of Revolutions
A critical study of European painting, sculpture, and printmaking between 1789 and 1851. Of primary interest will be the highly charged encounter between art and politics during the period. In addition, the course addresses this art’s diverse, often contradictory dealings with class, gender, sexuality, race, and empire.
