SE 247Ground Improvement
Concepts underpinning mechanical, hydraulic, chemical and inclusion-based methods of ground improvement will be discussed. Students will be able to understand the advantages, disadvantages and limitations of the various methods; and develop a conceptual design for the most appropriate improvement strategy. Recommended Preparation: SE 181 or equivalent background in the physics and engineering properties of soil.
