MCWP 40RCritical Writing
Online version of the first course of sequence in university reading and writing which satisfies the Muir College graduation requirement in writing. Required of all Muir College first-year students and of transfer students who have not completed a comparable course elsewhere. MCWP 40R introduces students to the basic elements of argument and analysis. Students engage in close reading of texts, weekly writing and revision, and individual conferences. This class is held synchronously online. Grades of C or higher are required for prerequisites. Must take MCWP 40R for a letter grade for the Muir College writing requirement. Credit given for only one of the following: MCWP 40, MCWP 40R, MCWP 40C, or MCWP 40CR. This is a distance education course.
