GPPS 439Eurasian Security
The class focuses primarily on Russian grand strategy, requiring an evaluation of security relationships with states in “its own” backyard from the Kremlin’s point of view, as well as historical and contemporary Russian foreign and military competition with the U.S., the wider West, and future competition with China. The course will begin with a review of the legacies of the Soviet Union and the Soviet collapse before going region-by-region to examine Russia's policies toward its neighbors.
