GPEC 454Managing the Macroeconomy

4 units · GPEC · UC San Diego

This course introduces major issues in macroeconomic policy. The first half covers national income, inflation, unemployment, aggregate supply and demand, short- and long-run growth, and the role of fiscal and monetary policy. The second half examines trade and monetary policy in the context of the international economy, and the intersection between trade policy and domestic actors such as firms and local governments. We will emphasize how models help in the understanding of economic events.
